Released on the silver screen in 1982 under the feature directorial debut of Amy Heckerling, and from a screenplay by Cameron Crowe, based on his 1981 book Fast Times at Ridgemont High: A True Story, the movie was a blockbuster, gained massive popularity at home video, and is now regarded as a cult classic. This coming-of-age 80s high school movie had an impressive cast of newbies at that time, but soon became Hollywood's most important icons.
