American comedian, writer, and actor — JOE PERA is launching another round of THE PERAS TOUR this year. ‘ALL DRIED UP,’ it’s gonna be one hot summer as the “Slow and Steady” comic serves up some fresh material, classic jokes, and fun moments on the road. Known for his “grandfatherly” style of performances, he’s a unique jokester who’ll be taking you on a wild ride across every era this summer. With various appearances on TV and film, he’s a household name when you talk about great comedy.
From his Adult Swim infomercials “Joe Pera Talks You to Sleep,” and his TV series “Joe Pera Talks with You,” the acclaimed comic found further success with a podcast, a couple of TV show appearances, and releasing his own special “Slow and Steady.” All eyes on him, he’s gone through different stages in his career — each sharing unique energies, clever wit, big lessons, and of course massive laughs all the way through.
In a conversation with Forbes, Pera talks about his stand-up special which follows the man’s successful Adult Swim projects which have amassed him a cult-like following. Known for his crowdwork, Derek Scancarelli of Forbes brings up how he worked it well all throughout despite some tough or weird moments with the crowd.
“You never know how it's going to go. That's what makes it exciting for me on the road,” Pera shared, explaining how he was pretty nervous how’d it go considering everyone knew there were cameras around. “I feel like my frustration was real. But the frustration was what made it funny, and we made sure to leave the clip of me reacting uncut so everybody could see that's how it went down.”
One thing’s for sure, his comedy ain’t dry at all… We’re out here living for these jokes, hilarious stories, clever advice, and the way he turns conversations around. Joe Pera is surely a living legend in today’s comedy scene.
