The Longest Johns is a sensational country trio who have been treading the boards since 2012. “The band are as tight as ever, with a headline world tour lined up for 2024, they’re set to continue taking stages by storm wherever they play, and if this album is anything to go by they’ll not fail to deliver a superb, high class and energetic show,” cheers At The Barrier.

Having met with a shared love of sea shanties across a kitchen table in their native Bristol ten years ago, The Longest Johns have reimagined a fantastic collection of folk's classic hits while adding their own signature style of song writing to the melting pot to keep the flame of the heritage alive. The Longest Johns is made up of the incredibly talented Jonathan ‘JD’ Darley, Andy Yates, and Robbie Sattin. Together, they have graced the stages of huge global folk festivals as well as toured the UK, Europe, and North America. Over the past decade, The Longest Johns have enjoyed a whirlwind of a journey. Not only have they released eight incredible full length albums, but also four extended plays and nine singles. Their 2021 rendition of 'Wellerman' erupted a sea shanty craze on social media as the 150-year-old folk track from New Zealand became a global viral sensation, taking the group to the #2 place on the coveted US Spotify Viral Chart and #5 Global.

Last year, they teamed up with the Catalán folk group El Pony Pisador and dropped the 7-track EP The Longest Pony with 'brothers in song' to commemorate English and Latin maritime traditions and the two bands' long-standing mutual admiration. Their highly anticipated fifth full studio album “Voyage” was released in February 2024, and it’s already one of their best works to date! The new record showcases the virtuosity of the trio: Jonathan Darley on vocals, guitar, and double bass; Andrew Yates on vocals and banjo; as well as Robbie Sattin on vocals, mandolin, organ, harmonium, electric guitar, vibraphone, and harmonica). The three piece is joined on the “Voyage” by Richard Laws (drums), Antonio Chiacchia (double bass), Alex Garden (violin), Maxwell Thomas (Melodeon) and Margaret Fowlie (Voiceover).
