Known for his folky soul sound, he's gotten fans falling in love with the sonic dreamlands his created over the last two decades. Now, he's taking the new album for a live spin on tour. A cup of tea for the spring breeze, it's gotta be Amos Lee.
To be picked by the renowned Norah Jones and Bob Dylan to open their shows in their respective shows back in the day, this proves Amos Lee's astounding talent as a singer-songwriter & musician. Once an elementary school teacher and part-time bratender, he pursued his passion for music. By 2005, he released his first self-titled solo album, featuring vocals and instrumentation by Norah Jones. At the time, Rolling Stone named his one of the "Top 10 Artists to Watch."
Now, he's gotta be one of music's living legends. Winning hearts for his graceful folk, soul, jazz, and Americana masterpieces, it's hard to resist a new Amos Lee record. As beautiful as his 2011 album "Mission Bell" hit the top spot of the Billboard 200, he's still got the edge.
A New York Times critic shared that Lee has "honeyed singing voice – light amber, mildly sweet, a touch of grain" which he features "squarely, without much fuss or undue strain" in his "1970s folk rock and rustic soul," clearly why listeners are so drawn to his lyrical melodies. A writer from ABC News said that he "has that folksy, bluesy vibe, with a bit of country twang" and a voice that is "ever soulful."
About "Transmissions", Lee is said to have expanded his musical horizons alongside the launch of his new label "Hoagiemouth Records". "There’s a lot of existential stuff in these songs," he said via Melodic Mag. "If you really listen to what’s in between the lines, there’s a lot of grappling with your place in the world, grappling with loss... The experience of writing music and playing songs while trying, as we all are right now, to make sense of a world that feels like it’s changing really quickly."
Celebrating this new milestone, he's extending tour dates through 2025, which includes this special stop at Dallas. Don't miss out by booking your tickets now!
